Permanent Christmas lights in St. Clair Shores.
On a typical 60–250 ft St. Clair Shores front, permanent lights run about $1,300–$8,500 once, priced at $22–34 per lit foot. Much of the Shores went up in the postwar boating boom: compact brick and vinyl homes near canal streets and the lake.

Permanent lighting on a St. Clair Shores postwar ranch: what we are working with.
Many St. Clair Shores houses are compact single-story homes from the 1950s or 1960s, finished in brick, vinyl or both. For a permanent channel that is about as simple as a roofline gets: mostly one level run across the front, with an angled cut wherever a gable rises. LightCast reads the eave and counts the peaks from one street photo, and on a ranch this size the whole front usually comes to 60 to 80 lit feet.
On the brick fronts the channel hides in the eave shadow and is hard to spot by day. On vinyl we match it to the fascia color rather than the siding, so it passes for a strip of trim. Nothing is fastened through a shingle, and the gutter is not part of the attachment, which matters on streets where mature trees keep those gutters full and they need clearing every fall.
The canal and lakefront streets are a different job. Many of those houses have a second face toward the water and sit in damp lakeside air all year. Fixed to the fascia, a rigid aluminum channel has no loose runs or clips to work free over a winter. If you can get a straight-on photo of the water side, LightCast can measure it the same way; otherwise the crew measures it on site before anything is ordered. That side is priced by the same per-foot rule and can run as its own zone.
Why St. Clair Shores homeowners go permanent.
Commercial RGBW LEDs in a low-profile aluminum channel on the fascia, never through a shingle. Phone control, schedules, zones, rated for Michigan winters, with a warranty on the track and the diodes.
A small roofline, paid for once
A Shores ranch usually carries 60 to 80 feet of front roofline. At that length the permanent channel costs about what a single season of leased C9s does, and from the second winter on there is no lease to pay.
Built for the lakeshore winter
Commercial RGBW diodes in an aluminum channel, rated for Michigan cold, with no filaments to crack and no clips to loosen over a lakeside winter. Track and diodes are covered by the warranty.
Lit for summer on the water too
Life here runs toward the canals and the lake in warm months. The same fixture that does red and green in December can run soft warm white over a dock-side evening or red, white and blue for the Fourth, all from your phone.
Permanent lighting goes on during an autumn visit. Dates are booked as calls come in, so the earliest callers get first pick.
Seasonal Christmas lights in St. Clair Shores: the lease option.
If a December-only display suits you better, we lease one. Our crew designs it, cuts commercial C9 runs to your roofline, and puts them up in November on clips chosen to spare your shingles and gutters, with no staples or nails. We fix outages through the season, take the display down in January and store it until next year. Lit wreaths and garland are available and quoted along with that design.
$18–32 per foot with a $595 minimum, which on a typical 60–250 ft St. Clair Shores roofline is $1,100–$8,000 a year. At these prices a permanent channel costs about what one season of leasing costs, and from the second December on it is paid for. If you want the December-only look, or you may move within a year, the lease is the right call and we will say so.
The seasonal service is described in full on the Christmas light installation page at macombpowerwashing.com.

Back up to the far curb until the full front is in frame. LightCast follows your eave line, finds every peak and puts a price on it. For scale, a front garage door works best; with a rear garage, use the front door.

Garage doors give the most accurate number; a 3 ft door or window is a smaller ruler, so the range is looser.

Things St. Clair Shores homeowners ask first.
What does permanent lighting cost on a St. Clair Shores ranch?
A ranch with 60–80 ft of front roofline comes to about $1,300–$2,700, paid once, at $22–34 per lit foot. A smaller two-story at 100–150 ft runs roughly $2,200–$5,100. On the lakefront the street side alone is often 150–250 ft, closer to $3,300–$8,500. One photo into LightCast gives your own number.
Is permanent worth it on a roofline this short?
On a short roofline the comparison is lopsided. Leasing a C9 display on a ranch at 60–80 ft costs about $1,100–$2,600 every season, while the permanent channel on the same 60–80 ft is about $1,300–$2,700 one time. If a move is likely before next winter, leasing makes more sense, and we will say that plainly.
How does it hold up in the damp air near Lake St. Clair?
The diodes sit inside an aluminum channel fastened to the fascia, built and rated for a Michigan winter. There are no filaments to snap and nothing clipped on to come loose. Track and diodes carry a warranty, and because the system is zoned, a dark section is traced without pulling the rest down.
We are on a canal. Can the water side be lit as well?
Yes. When a straight-on shot of the canal side is possible, LightCast can size it just like the front; when it is not, our crew measures that face in person before anything is ordered. It is priced on the same per-foot rule and set up as a separate zone in the app, so the dock side can glow later into the evening while the street side follows its own schedule.
Our garage sits out back. What do I tap for scale?
Tap the edges of the front door, or a front window, which LightCast counts as roughly three feet wide. If the automatic roofline trace misses your eave, switch to manual mode and tap it yourself. Before any material is ordered, a crew checks the footage in person.
