Permanent Christmas lights in Grosse Pointe.
On a typical 120–400 ft Grosse Pointe front, permanent lights run about $2,600–$13,600 once, priced at $22–34 per lit foot. The Pointes hold a display to a high standard: warm white, the architecture first, and restraint as the highest praise.

Permanent lighting on a Grosse Pointe Tudor: what we are working with.
Grosse Pointe lighting is tradition on hard materials. The Tudor revivals and Georgian colonials here carry slate, clay tile and copper, roofing that should never take a fastener or a boot, and the local taste is settled: warm white following the architecture, greenery on the door and the railings, nothing that shouts at the neighbors. A low-profile channel under the eave, glowing warm white on a schedule, is that code made permanent, and by day against brick and stone it sits in the shadow line where almost nobody looks.
The lake writes the engineering. Wind off St. Clair works a clipped display from the water side all season, and a rigid channel fastened to the fascia gives it nothing to work. Feet never touch slate, steel never touches copper, and because nothing comes down in January there is no takedown to leave a mark on patina. Steep Tudor gables are long mitered cuts meeting at the ridge; a Georgian is one level eave and a pair of returns. Both are zoned from one controller with color available for the one evening a year that asks for it.
Why Grosse Pointe homeowners go permanent.
Commercial RGBW LEDs in a low-profile aluminum channel on the fascia, never through a shingle. Phone control, schedules, zones, rated for Michigan winters, with a warranty on the track and the diodes.
Warm white, first
Rooflines and gables traced in warm white on a dusk schedule, with color there for the nights that call for it and invisible otherwise.
Slate, tile and copper untouched
The channel lives at the fascia. The roof surface and the copper are not part of the attachment and never carry a fastener or a boot.
Nothing loose for the lake
Rated for Michigan winters, with no filaments to snap in the cold and no clips for the wind to find. What was straight in October is straight in March.
Permanent track is an autumn install, and the lakeside elevations want their day before the winter wind settles in. Callers in the autumn window choose their date.
Seasonal Christmas lights in Grosse Pointe: the lease option.
For a family that wants December only, the lease follows the same warm-white brief: we own the commercial C9 lights, design to the architecture, hang in November, repair anything the lake weather takes, remove in January and store. Wreaths and garland are the add-ons and are priced with the design.
$18–32 per foot with a $595 minimum, which on a typical 120–400 ft Grosse Pointe roofline is $2,200–$12,800 a year. At these prices a permanent channel costs about what one season of leasing costs, and from the second December on it is paid for. If you want the December-only look, or you may move within a year, the lease is the right call and we will say so.

Things Grosse Pointe homeowners ask first.
Can you install permanent lighting without touching our slate roof?
That is the only way we work here. The channel is fastened to fascia boards or set beneath the drip edge, the crew works from ladders and standoffs, and there is no foot traffic on slate or tile at any point. The roof surface is not part of the install.
Will it survive the wind off Lake St. Clair?
A rigid channel fastened to the fascia has no loose points for the lake to work, which is the whole difference from a clipped display. It is rated for Michigan winters, track and diodes carry a warranty, and zoning means a failed run is found without touching the rest.
What does permanent lighting cost in Grosse Pointe?
$22–34 per lit foot, once. A two-story colonial at 120–180 ft is roughly $2,600–$6,100, the street side of a lakefront home at 150–250 ft about $3,300–$8,500, and a large two-story with wings at 250–400 ft about $5,500–$13,600. Steep gables with more cuts sit toward the top of the band.
Can we still have wreaths and garland?
Yes. Wreaths and garland are the seasonal add-ons we offer, priced with your design and added to the estimate. They go up on a house whose roofline is already lit and come down in January.
